Self-Care Magic

Self-care has become a buzzword.  Self and care often times compete with our responsibilities.

Here are a few things you can do to maintain your health and well-being when times get tough.

Recharge before you’re drained. More sleep, connection with friends and loved ones, and meditation are a few ways that feed us the manna of contentment. Get curious and discover the key to YOUR personal self-care magic.

“Within you, there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself.”   - Herman Hesse

Self-care isn’t always easy.  Do what makes you feel good, calm, centered, and fulfilled.  Find small and simple activities that you enjoy. Give yourself permission to rest or play!

If you’re overwhelmed with sadness, grief, overwork or challenge, take a breath, look around and see what you do have.  For example, the flowers on my desk are beautiful.  The gentle patter of rain is soothing.  Consider reaching out to someone you trust and celebrate your personal or professional wins – and if need be, your losses.

Incorporating self-care is doubly important during stressful times. Self-care requires commitment. Doing does it! You’ll discover things that help you manage stress and recharge your energy. Water, good food, and positive thoughts will help banish the gloom and doom that so often occurs when we are taking care of those unable to take care of themselves, and or those who are perpetually negative.

Building a simple routine is not selfish - it is self-care.

I invite you to take the 30-day challenge. Set aside time for yourself. Prioritize your needs. Follow your intuitive knowing.  Your body knows the score. Pay attention, and you’ll bounce back.  Take an inventory of your state of mind and body.  Self-care will help you make space to handle the challenges that will ultimately strengthen you.

Self-Care is NOT a one-size-fits-all solution. So take the time to explore what works for you.  Together, we can better navigate life’s ups and downs, foster resilience, and promote overall health and well-being.  If we don’t care for ourselves, we’ll never be able to care for others.

Stay tuned for the next stress tip!

Peace & Blessings,
