Ready for a Little Lift?

Lately, it seems that everything is moving in slow motion.  Things take longer to accomplish and some days, it feels like you’re bogged down. Violence, stress, inflation, and depression are at an all-time high.

Don’t despair. There’s a martial arts principle to help you overcome lethargy, overwhelm and even the press.

You’ve got to follow the Energy!

In Aikido, a Japanese martial art, there are no attacks. Instead, we flow with our opponent’s energy and join with it. In that oneness, we are able to use their aggression to our advantage. The process, once learned, involves no resistance and life just gets easier.

Take the time to honor your body.  Get to know it, and bit by bit, increase your exercise. It will help you still your mind.

If you want to win the game of life, get moving. Find something you like and stick with it.

Over time, you’ll find that your mind and body form a great relationship. Energy follows the pathways that you create by practice.

It’s also a great recipe for living longer, stronger, and more successfully navigating life’s challenges.

The founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba, reminds us of what’s most important:

“Aikido is love. It is the path that brings our heart into oneness with the spirit of the universe to complete our mission in life by instilling in us a love and reverence for all of nature.”

It’s an Aikido saying that is true.  Love is the answer to just about any stress.
